Episode at the workplace

Today, there was a funny episode at my workplace...

A male colleague came to work formally dressed in a mustard yellow shirt and white pants...everyone stared at him when he stepped in..."attending friend's wedding dinner after work"...he explained...then there was silence...but the stare lingered...he asked..."why? do i look exceptionally cute today?"...everyone burst into laughter...and 1 brave soul said..."quite the contrary, you looked quite weird wearing that banana-ish combi of yours..."

Haha...ya...then came a spate of exchanges as to why that dressing looks weird and bla bla...poor dude...heh...somehow...yellow and white just looks erm...dubious...;P

I guess everyone has commited fashion booboos before...some just more ridiculous than the others...that being said...got me thinking about guys' dressing...personally I feel that though the fashion industry has evolved much for guys, it is still pretty much quite limited with regards to the styles they can dressed up in...so...in a way...it is a blessing...they don't really have to fret over dressing that much ya?

For guys, if you are not particularly fashionably-inclined, just stick to a few safe options, and I think you pretty much are good to go anywhere...well...at least I think there are only a few simple rules...easy-peasy compared to girls! :P

For work, not much permutations I guess...just long-sleeved shirts and pants...just need to make sure the colours don't clash...when in doubt, please just stick to pale coloured shirts and black/grey pants. Some people are just not so good with colour matching...and I agree it really takes quite an eye to be able to match perfectly...If wearing striped or checkered top, only wear it with plain bottoms...Finish outfit with black leather shoes and ta-dah...good for work!

For smart casual, shirt and jeans? Ok, slightly more tricky here because jeans are predominantly blue...need to play around with colour-matching for a bit...Well... Black/White/Grey shirts are always safe to wear with blue jeans...easy! Wear with black leather shoes...again...or if you are feeling adventurous...white loafers are the way to go...classic!

For casual....hmm...can't be easier right? T-shirt and jeans...BUT nice t-shirts are always a must...not some free school tees from your uni days...and again...don't be too adventurous with coloured T-shirts...it's really not so easy to carry off...especially if you are wearing colours which are so off-season...heh...casual loafers are good to complete the outfit...

For super casual, t-shirt and plain berms? surf shorts only for the beach though...heh...

Oops I think I got carried away...occupational hazard...;P

Escape to WA

Life has been pretty chaotic lately...busy with work mostly...and given the mad rush in the morning, I haven't been able to take any pictures...don't really have to mood to dress up either...so it's better not to show what I'm wearing...haha...:P

But still managed to go on a holiday with the bf...yippee...I love Holidays!!!

Went to Western Australia, covering Perth, Mandurah and Margaret River...

Really like it in Australia...There's a laidback vibe to it and the weather is cool with gentle breeze...it does get really cold at night though...good excuse to cuddle up I guess...;P

Managed to drop by many places along the road trip...Highlights include a sightseeing flight above rottnest island on a hmm-I-don't-know-what-it's-called smallish 4-seater plane...I think it's really cool...Great experience...and the sight was breathtaking....

Had fish and chips at Fremantle and took a nice pic on the beach when the sun was setting...

We also managed to go to King's park where we took this pic... hee...so cute ya? ;P

Spent around 3 days in Perth City. After which, we dropped by Mandurah, enroute to Margaret River. Bunked in at a friend's place in Mandurah...very hospitable couple...almost couldn't believe there are such nice people around...really heartwarming...and we celebrated bf's birthday there...=)

Happiness...;)

This is all of us...looking slightly intoxicated...haha

Night view outside their lovely home...can see many many stars...beautiful...we spotted a kangaroo hopping past too...but it was freezing cold...and we couldn't really hang out there for long...

After the short stay in Mandurah, we drove to Margaret River...

Margaret River was beautiful and picturesque with nice lighthouse and beaches...

That's us walking towards the lighthouse...things you can do with a tripod...heh...

Of course we didn't miss the chance to climb to the top of the lighthouse...very pretty...and windy too...feels like I'm being blown away...

Went wine tasting in the many vineyards lining the entire Margaret River...was very educational...am able to appreciate wine so much better after this enriching trip...nice to unwind with a nice bottle of white wine once in a while...

Aww...Love Australia...I'm missing it already...will be going back there soon I hope...;)
Oh well, looking forward to the next trip...
